A More Balanced World Outreach Center
Established to unlock the potential of homeless high school and college students in Southern California, this outreach program provides a host of supportive services, to increase graduation rates, while building and sustaining healthy communities.
We invite you to join us in making a lasting impact on the life of the most vulnerable in our communities, whether through your professional expertise, monetary contributions, or just getting the word out.
Basic Physical Needs
- Food: Healthy snacks and/or voucher for purchasing food from restaurants/fast foods
- Clothes: Good quality, ‘Like New’/Unused (men’s and women’s; shoes; accessories)
- Hygiene Products & Services: Services could include voucher for haircut, manicure/pedicure, facial, spa, etc
- Transportation: Buss pass; train pass; gas card, car repair service…
- Shower/Gym facilities
- Mail Services: Post Office Box
- Lookers: through storage rooms for rent
- Sleeping Bags
Academic Assitance
- Tutoring: through collaboration with other nonprofits, online self or instructed-led study
- Educational Counseling / Career Guidance: Could include attendance/drop out counseling
- Computer Hardware / Software
- College Admission Support: Assistance with application process, financial aid/scholarship, …
- Text Books & School Supplies: Could including for 2nd hand books, making copies of borrowed book, renting the assigned books; requesting on FB
Professional Service Referrals
- Emotional / Mental Health: Therapy, mentoring, support group, recommendation to guidance counselors/social agencies
