Mehregan Festival

The Mehregan Festival, deeply rooted in Persian culture, historically honors the spirit of friendship, love, and thanksgiving. Traditionally celebrated on the autumnal equinox, it marks a time of abundance, symbolizing the harvest season and embracing the diversity of nature’s bounty.

This year the Orange County Iranian American Chamber of commerce (OCICC) hosted Mehregan Festival at The Great Park in Irvine, Ca. on Sept. 23, 2023. The Great Park served as an ideal backdrop, offering a sprawling space for attendees to explore the richness of Persian culture through traditional music, dance performances, art exhibitions, and culinary delights. Visitors were immersed in the beauty of Persian artistry, from intricate handicrafts to mesmerizing folk dances that spoke volumes about the richness of Iran’s cultural heritage.

‘A More Balanced World’ took part in the festival fostering the message of equity in education, as well as introducing our organization and creating dialogue around our mission to support deserving yet disadvantaged students worldwide.
