A More Balanced World Diwali Festival Celebration

On November 7, 2010, ‘A More Balanced World’ celebrated Diwali, one of the most significant Indian festivals, practiced by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. The name Diwali is derived from the Sanskrit term “dipavali” meaning “row of lights”.

The evening was filled with dazzlingly traditional Indian costumes, delicious and flavorful Indian cuisine, beautifully choreographed performances, DJ dancing, face painting for children and raffles.

In an address to attendees, Mandy Fazeli, President of ‘A More Balanced World’, spoke about organization’s goals and aspiration in providing deserving yet disadvantaged children and youth, access to education and the way forward. On behalf of the organization, she also expressed her gratitude for the support received from donors and volunteers.
