Faryal’s academic journey is a testament to resilience and determination, overcoming significant obstacles to pursue her passion for economics.  Hailing from Herat, Afghanistan, Faryal has been a guiding light for her younger siblings, particularly her brother Hasib, who postponed his own educational aspirations to support her.

Despite the turmoil in her homeland following the Taliban’s resurgence, Faryal’s dedication to education remained unwavering. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics, showcasing exceptional academic prowess with a GPA of 4.65 out of 5.  When financial constraints threatened to derail her ambitions ‘A More Balanced World’ sponsored her Ph.D. studies at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Russia.

Faryal’s scholarly excellence didn’t go unnoticed, earning her the second rank among young foreign scientists in Russia and a place among the esteemed “Young Scientists.”

Throughout her Ph.D. journey, Faryal has continued to excel. Within her first two years, she published seven articles, participated in several national and international conferences on various economic and banking topics, secured second place in a National Science, Competition for Ph.D. students, and was appointed as the Head of the Language Learning & Skill Enhancement Center at her university, all the while maintaining a GPA of 4.85.  Currently in her fourth semester, Faryal remains prolific in her research, already working on her dissertation.
